The Environment Agency’s requirements for River Thames boat registration, in respect of powered boats, include a mandatory requirement of Third Party Liability Insurance, with a minimum sum insured of £1,000,000.
Insurance policy checks will be carried out by the Agency on 10% of registered vessels each month and the maximum fine for failing to comply with registration requirements is £1,000.
